It is the sailor that voyages not the boat.

Wow, that kind of thinking won't sell large shiny yachts at the boat show! But it's true, men (mostly men) have sailed sailing vessels of all types across oceans and around the world; Tinkerbelle, Dove, Cooking Fat and so on. It's not the ship's, it's the men in them, an old saying.
There have been occasions when sailors, too sick or injured by storms, have jumped ship only to have the boat drift to shore months later, unharmed, slightly weedier. It was the men that gave up, not the boat.
